hi looking to fit a cigarette lighter type power socket in the boot area of my V40 cross country 64 plate to power a cooler box. Wondering if anyone has done this or any ideas. thanx .

 

shouldn't be too hard. The sockets are available on Amazon for under $10. Your design needs to consider a) how much power will the cooler box require b) where to splice into the existing circuitry that's robust enough to support the load. c) consider whether you want the power to be controlled by the key as an accessory that would shut off when you turn off the car. You probably also want to add an in-line fuse and make sure you have a solid ground point.
