1999 V40 2.0T low engine power
Just a quick question regarding my recently brought a 1999 V40 2.0T. I brought this one as it was by far in the best condition, although like any second hand cars there are a couple of problems that require fixing. I test drove a few and I can say that this one is definatly down on power compared to the other 2.0T engined cars I drove. There is no point in the rev range or throttle position that it looses power - its just gererally down on power all round. I relate to it that its exactly like Im driving a non turbo engined car as the power output feels excatly the same as a few of those that I drove. I have not got any equipment (yet) to check fault codes. Any suggestions on where to start looking for an issue?
I know the turbo wastegate is nice and free as I was playing around with that a couple of nights ago. Is there a way to test the boost solenoid to check if its working?
