2000 V40 engine replaced with 2004 V40 engine?
wondering if there's any issued with replacing the 2000 V40 engine with a 2004? the recycler says they are compatible, but want to know if there will be other parts to replace because of the difference in years.
I am assuming these are US cars. Longblocks are the same. If it has accessories however... Your fuel rail, regulator and injectors are different, that's about it as far as what is coming on the engine. Charge pipes are different also, but you likely will not get those with a used engine.
Just swap your old stuff over.... you could keep them but the flow rates are higher on the injectors. Rail and regulator are just different design/materials but are interchangeable.
If memory serves, non-US 2000's do not have VVT and therefor the heads would not be interchangeable.
