We have a 2000 V40 and recently had to purchase a new key because the old one broke. The car ran fine 2 days ago, but after the tow to our house and picking up the key today, the car won't start.

The key will turn all the way, the car cranks once, then nothing. It doesn't appear to be a bad battery, because the headlights are strong and there's none of the typical 'click, click, click' of the celanoid (sp?)

Anyone have a suggestion?

I am quite certain that the new key needs to be programmed into the CEM module. This can only be done by a dealer.

Where did you get the new key from? Is the immobilizer light "on"?

 

maybe it is the wrong with your engine?
