I've been perusing the forum for more detailed instruction on how to change the oil on my 2003 V40, of which there are a few threads that are quite handy, but they do not pertain directly to the V40 and I'm wondering if the procedure is the same or different in some way. For one, one thread mentioned the oil filter had to be removed prior to the drain plug (if I remember correctly) and a tech doc was referenced, but it was specific to the model discussed. Can anyone fill me in on the procedure for the V40? I already got the filter and a washer [for drain plug] I was told [at the Volvo parts department] will need to be replaced each time. Also, can anyone confirm the weight oil I should use, and whether there are any other disposables I'll need besides the washer I was provided?
