Default axle issue after replacing lower control arms

2001 v40
had lower control arms replaced. Before this event I had zero issues with axles. Now it appears under load the front shakes, wheels feel wobbly etc. When I let off acceleration it seems to stop. Mechanic is saying axles need to be replaced. What could cause this to happen when replacing lower control arms. I remind all I had ZERO issues with the axles prior. I am not even sure the lower control arms were bad.
