I have a 2002 v40 where one of the bars at the back of the cargo area ripped through as well, and one of the plastic bars broke off so that the cargo cover stays in place. Could use some help on how to repair this.

A thin wooden dowel should do the trick if you are talking about the bar that hooks into the slots near the rear hatch frame. If you're not worried about the way it looks, you could attach it with a staple gun.
