My daughter has a 2005 Volvo S40 T5. The front passenger door will not open from the inside or outside. I can put my ear to the outside of the door and hear the actuator when I press the lock/unlock button on the remote or in the car. When I pull the handle on the inside, the lock "post" raises but when I hold it and release the door handle, it is pulled back down into the door. I am sure that there is a linkage or something broke or disconnected in the door, but I can't get to it with out having the door open so I can remove the inside panel !! I have thought about letting the window down and trying to "slim-jim" the mechanism through the window slot. Does anyone have any suggestions !!! ANY help would be greatly appreciated !!!!!

I have the same problem on my 940. I was working on my door handle problem, shut the door and now cannot open from either inside or outside.

What to do?

Any help out here is appreciated.
