I am about to buy V40 - year 2000 . The car is 1500 miles from home. My plan is to fly to there and drive back. I friend of mine tried the car and everything seems to be ok . There is just one thing , that I am little worried about. There is an indicator lamp light up all the time ( you can see on the picture )
Do you know what this lamp means and can you suggest me if it is ok to drive this distance with this lamp on.

Thats a check engine light ...Can't tell you why its on with out reading the codes but most likely it would be ok to drive home. However I would not buy a car that has a check engine light on that I did not know what was causing it unless it was such a steal of a deal that I could not pass it up.
