Rear Lights not working
Hi,
hope someone can help. the lights on the back of the car are not working. the brake lights are fine, reverse lights are fine, lights on the boot are fine but the main lights are not!
I cant seem to find the fuse for them. I dont have a haynes manual. can someone point me in the right direction?
thanks
Mick

As you have a '96 V40 I assume you are from my side of the pond. The fuse you are looking for is #6 on the fascia fuse panel. However, it also covers the front parking lamps (sidelights in the UK), the seat heaters, rear interior lamps, number plate lamp, light switch illumination, front and rear fog lights and switches and the instrument panel illumination rheostat.Busy little thing isn't it?
If these otheritems are still working it can't be the fuse. It looks like you may be having to trace wires to see if you have a break in one.

Hi Mate,
thanks for the reply. Im in Ireland. I hope your wrong! dont fancy going through all that cable. How would it just split without any interferance from anyone? but yeah if its on the same fuse all that other stuff then its not the fuse.....

Possibly a stupid question - are the bulbsOK?
If they are start at the light unit with a test meter looking for 12 voltsand work towards the front of the car testing at the multi plugs.
