'04 v40 shakes when accelerating at speeds of 40+ MPH. No noise or shuddering from stop or when coasting (no strain on drive}, only on acceleration at speed. Half axles? Is this a repair for a weekender (I've done brakes, struts, tie rods, control arms)? Any info, insight or links to how to would be greatly appreciated.

 

Check out the post by bobinyelm. I just changed both on mine and his procedure was spot on and much easier than I was expecting. Changing the half axles will fix your problem. I would change both as it's hard to identify which it is. Autozone has a great deal on rebuilts with a lifetime warranty.
