The Volvo engineers have added pedestrian airbags to the new V40. When one hits a pedestrian, the airbags push out of the top of the hood, aiming to protect the pedestrian from too hard of an impact. Do you guys think this will work? I think the pedestrians could just launch over the car and land just as hard on the asphalt behind the vehicle.
