Default V40 road vibrations

Hello. Sometimes (quite often) when driving down the road, the car picks up a vibration that can get pretty severe. I can usually get it to stop by changing speeds slightly. The problem is less severe when there is a passenger in the passenger seat.

The roads in question are typically not the smoothest roads... sometimes i go from alot of vibration to very little vibration when the road smooths out. To compound issues, we live on a rather gnarly dirt road (not county maintained) and i think it's taking it's toll on our poor V40 .

-Rick

P.S. It's a 2004 V40, and has ~105k miles on it

The best place to start with vibration issues is to start with the tires. Inspect for bad wear and get the balanced. Then we go from there if the problem persists.
