Volvo Antifreeze
Last year i purchased a Volvo V40 for my wife. The car has only 40,000 miles on it and from the looks of it was well looked after. I would like to change the Anti Freeze on this car for my own piece of mind. The car has been great and we have had no problems. (The fellow we brought it from had a manufactuers extended warranty on the car up to 75,000 miles or the end of 2010. As its covered from bumper to bumper i had it transferred to my wifes name.) As i service my own cars i would like to use the original manufactuers anti freeze. I own two VW's one is a 1991 Cabriolet with 40,000 miles and the other is a 2003 New Beetle Conv with 54,000 miles. Both VW's have life long VW anti freeze installed and the cooling systems are spotless. The older VW uses the blue fluid and the newer one uses the pink fluid. My question is. Is the Volvo anti freeze worth the extra money (About $6.00 more then the VW) Could i use the VW anti freeze or can someone give me an idea of another brand to use. I still have visions of Dex cool on my mind. Thanks
