01' V70 has an idle surge, please help!!!
Hey folks!
I'm new to the forum, I'm glad I've found it!!! I have an 01' V70 XC AWD Turbo with 130K miles on it. In the past few months I've noticed that when I'm idling at a stop sign, light, etc. the car will inexplicably just sort of "surge" forward - it feels as if the the gas and brake peddles are being pressed at the same time. The car just wants to jump forward. It only happens after I've been driving the vehicle (not when it's idling in the garage). I don't know if it's the timing belt or the airflow sensor or what...
Please help!!!
Thanks!
Jon

I don't think so... I've been reading a lot about having to clean the Throttle Body. Could this be the problem???
Whatever info you can offer would be extremely helpful as I'm trying to sell the car...
Thanks for helping me!!!

The throttle body is under the intake manifold. There is a big plastic pipe that attaches to it. You need to remove the pipe and then the throttle body and clean it. You will need a new gasket as well.
It could be either a dirty throttle body of the Neutral control for the transmission.
When you are stopped or slowing down the car goes into neutral then when you hit the gas again it goes back into gear.(Thats if the function is still active)
Both will do that when you sit still.
