2006 V50 lurching/grinding randomly.
So, as the title says, my symptoms were like this. If I were to come to a full stop and apply the foot brake before shifting to park, I would hear a small 'grind' as it went into park... only to find when I release the foot brake, and not apply the parking brake yet, it rolls. I apply the parking brake, and it stays stationary. Also, when driving down the road, I would get random 'lurches' as I would go forward, sometimes hearing a slight clunk now and again. When I go backward, it's unreliable and lurches backward when gently applying the accelerator.
Buddy put the car on a lift and found that the CV axel support sleeve on the left front axle snapped the bolts, and the bearing in said support was missing a few *****.
All that being said, this all kinda happened in the same time frame... would all the listed symptoms be related if the left CV axle was kinda 'skipping' out of its mating point with the transmission? With the bad bearing, and bolts snapped?
Thanks, and feel free to ask other questions, the parts are en route, so just wanted to see if that would cause the issues I was having, and hoping it will be roadworthy again after I install the bearing and bolts..? [Barring any other issues, of course]
