Ok so we finally found a V50 that is a 9.5 out of 10. We had to look very hard for any blemishes, the engine bay was immaculate and then we tried our CD into the CD player. Well there was already a CD in there and it wouldn't come out. Not a deal killer for us and we bought the car.

I searched Crutchfield but they didn't have anything for a 2007 Volvo V50.

I see OEM head units on e-bay but it would be nice to get a new unit with bluetooth etc.

I'm starting to think that because of the way the panel is set up that the only thing that will work is an OEM?

Any ideas?

 

You can disassemble unit and find our what kind of drive is inside.
There is drive itself and main board for the car connection.
So drive can be replace by a new one and everything else will work ok. No need to marry with car (usually for EU is you replace the whole unit)
As for bluetooth there is no CD drives with it.

 

The cd player is a computer for the car so if you will get abother one it will have to be new

 

HM? The CD player is a computer for the car? I would have thought the CD player interfaces with the cars own computer? If anything wouldn't the CD player be considered an appliance? Maybe I am just confused after staying up late last night.
