DPF Additive tank gauge telling its empty while its not.
Hi!
I have a error code P2585, the DPF Additive tank was empty, and a i had a Volvo dealership refill it, though they had issues clearing the error code, and told me that next step would be to replace both the DPF Filter and Additive tank, at a hefty cost of 2500 - 3000$, they could not guarantee that this would clear the code and additional work would maybe be needed.
The dealership told me that the "sensor" in the tank itself was a normal issue on these cars. I also called several salvage yards to check if they had any in stock all were sold out, they also told me they get weekly requests for DPF Additive tanks.
I had a brief look under the car did not have access to any lifting gear at the time so the view was limited, but I assume the thin cable of the two going to the tank is the gauge or sensor as Volvo called it. Is it possible to disconnect or shunt the cable making the car read the tank as full again? I would like to confirm that its the tank that is broken before i go out and spend 700$ for a new tank (quote from Volvo).

I went out and bought a "new" tank, that the salvage yard would confirm as working (ducumented checked when salvaged) yet I still have same faulth code P2585.
Now I have to have a dealership with VIDA have to do "Reset Additive",
