Default Exhaust Leak?

Hi,
I have just started to notice that when I start the engine from cold I get the smell of exhaust gas in the cabin and also the engine has a buzzy noise on acceleration and deceleration which seems to lessen after the engine warms up.
The exhaust smell only presents itself during initial start up when the revs are high and not noticeable once the revs drop to the regular idle. With usual start and stop driving there is no exhaust smell
The vehicle is the T5 version, any hints at what I should be looking at will be most welcome.
Thanks

I haven't heard of exhaust issues with these cars. Check the flex pipe and exhaust manifold gasket. Then check any joints in the system.

OK, I took the car to a shop and the problem turned out to be the ac compressor seizing up. The noise was getting louder and it was suggested that I should get the compressor replaced before it locked up and possibly breaking the belt and I would then require a tow. The belt did screech on startup and there was lots of noise from the engine engine compartment.
Just over $1K Can, but the car runs so quiet, the ac must have been on the way out when I purchased the vehicle, yet the ac still cooled.
I believe the exhaust fumes on startup is caused by my drive being on a slope and the tailpipes are short and I reverse over the fumes?
