Default Head gasket fix or scrap?

Hello all, basically had a 2010 Volvo v50 1.6d sit outside my house for about 9months, didn't last long after I paid £3500 for it, its now got a blown head gasket. In short its not worth me paying to get it fixed as I've spent enough on it, but was thinking of giving the head gasket ago myself, what have I got to loose, its probably only worth £50 as scrap anyway!? Is it worth me trying to change it, any advice greatly appreciated.

Tom

You don't have much to lose - I'd say to go for it, and to take the head into a machine shop to check it for warping. Other than that, it's not going to cost much to probably fix it and have a good-running V50 again.

Try a bottle of "Steel Seal" ig worked on a opel/vauxhall corsa b that I used to own, and is simple to use, just add it to your coolant, and follow instructions on the bottle.
