Default IPOD RETRO

Hi all.

Ive just purchased a second hand V50 2.0dthats 18 months old, fantastic car, the only thing is it doesnt have the deep storage pocket and ipod connection socket. Is there a way to retro fit this item to the priemium sound system the car already has?
Also, is there a retro fit sat nav system for this car that would fit in the same place as the factory fit system?
Thanks for your time

Jamie

I am going to warn you now.

FM Transmitters SUCK. My g/f has one in her Cavalier. I forget what model FM Transmitter it is, but it was not a cheapie. It was around $100 or so.

1. You have to find a station that doesn't come in clear.

2. FM Transmitters and the use with an Ipod is difficult. You can hear static most of them time. Going over bumps etc... can cause static. Sometimes you can hear the radio station coming through. If the Ipod and Transmitter are not positioned correctly it can cause static. You will be moving the darn thing around a lot, just to find a clear spot that you can hear your Ipod clearly.

In general FM Transmitters suck period. I wouldn't want your money on one.

I agree, the transmitter type iPod adaptors are terrible. I can't even get a signal in my new (used) 2005, V50. My Volvo dealer says that there is no iPod interface or audio jack available for an '05.

Anyone out there figure out how to get an iPod to work on a 2005 V50?

Thanks,

Eric

Anyone tried an "wired FM modulator"? At first glance it looks a lot better than a wireless FM modulator. Here's one that Crutchfield sells: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...01&tp=1287

My local audio shop wants to install one called a Concept FM07CA. They want $165 installed which seems a bit steep since the unit is less than $30. Anyone have any experience with these?

Forget the FM transmitters. I bought a Griffin TuneFlex for $35 US at BestBuy. Plugs into the 12-volt outlet and has a line to plug into the AUX jack on the stereo. Excellent sound, and it charges the iPod as I drive.
