I bought a used 2006 V50 a few years ago, and I am wondering what the longevity on this model is.... Is it similar to other Volvos? Does anyone have any comments on its long term performance?

That all depends on the car you give it. It can last 20 years or 500,000 miles if it is properly cared for. Park it out of the sun, change the oil and other things according to the maintenance schedule, repair things that break and most importantly DO NOT ABUSE IT. Don't drive around in LOW gear all the time. Don't tow truck across town. Don't race every chance you get. Don't drive over curbs and drive into Pittsburgh pot holes all the time.
