06 V50 not turning over. Got power in key position 1 and 2. Remote doesn’t lock either driver side doors. Could the remote battery just be low or is it definitely something bigger?

We just got the car. The first time it didn’t turn over my husband set off and then turned off the alarm. Then it started. The second time it didn’t turn over, we tried all kinds of things while reading the manual. Eventually it turned over. It isn’t the FOB battery. It doesn’t seem to be the car battery either (I think) because so far out of the 2 times, it eventually starts.
