Starting/not starting
My V50 (2008, 1.6D) recently shut down completely while driving on the highway. Engine turned off, all electrics. Said "error in anti-slide system". Dead. It got towed to a workshop that saw a lot of error messages within the electric system and proposed me to try to an electrician office. I managed to drive the car home from the workshop and now try to figure out the next steps. Here is what happens when I try to start it:
1. I go to the car and it starts normally, no error codes
2. After 10-30 seconds the engine dies
3. I can restart it once or twice in the same manner. After this it refuses to start and while in position II it says "error in the anti-slide system" and sometimes also "imobilizer: try again"
...if I leave it for 10 minutes, it does exactly the same again. There is no difference if I use one key or the other.
Has anyone come across anything like this? I am trying to figure out my next steps here..... Thanks!
(PS: Some 6 months ago the key fobs stopped working (so I cannot use them to remotely lock/unlock the car etc). Batteries in both keys are fine. Not sure if this can be related?)
