I have a fault with the ABS system. The engine, abs and anti skid lights are on. A garage scanned it an said the front right ABS sensor was faulty. They changed it but the fault remains. I am at a loss now, do I take it back for them to check the wiring or what? Where do all four sensors go to on a 2009 V50 2.0D Powershift car. If I could find this I might be able to fix it myself. The garage also said that the old sensor was ‘crushed’, I find this hard to believe.
Any help would be appreciated.

It is common to have abs sensor faults - but usually it's not the sensors - it's connection problems inside the abs control unit. (techs read the codes and "replace by code", rather than solve the problem. And it's certainly possible to have a damaged abs sensor, or tone ring on some cars) The control unit is "programmed" to the VIN number of your car - meaning usually a used part will not work. Companies such as xemodex ( unfortunately they are in Canada) can fix your ABS control unit. New ones from Volvo are very expensive and require a software download using VIDA to make them work.

The first step would be ready codes again - and maybe find someone to fix what's really causing the problem.
