ABS light on- checked with OBD2
Hey guys,
I've searched for an answer but can't find anything that helps. I have a 1997 850 and my abs light is on, and I've hooked up two different OBD2 readers that can't find any codes. My abs right now is not working, but wondering what else I can do or check before replacing the abs control unit. Anyone have the abs wiring diagram? That might help.
Any help is appreciated!

Thanks 'nonsense' for remembering me :P
loveinthe850 - you need a volvo diagnostic tool to read ABS codes but there are few sympoms that can tell your problem without scaning :
- You daytime running lights come ON when you start the car?
- Is the tracks light also ON or its only ABS light?(if your car is equiped with track system - switch on the dash)
- This problem started intermittently or just all of a sudden?
- Did any repair triggered the light - (stretched ABS sensor wires during repair in wheel areas)
If your module seems to be bad then feel free to send ABS module to me for repair as long as you can take care of shipping and handling.

Hey bestharry,
Thanks very much for getting back to me. I have taken off an abs unit before and it was awful! So i hope I don't have to do it again! And I dont' have the tools at home so I have to drive pretty far to get the work done.
To answer your questions:
1) the daytime running lights do come on when i start the car
2) I dont' have a tracks light, so it's just the abs
3) the problem did start intermittently, and the light came and went. now it's pretty much always one (but does turn off sometimes)
4) i'm not sure that a repair triggered the light my dad was driving it then but i don't think so.
does that help? I really appreciate your help.
James
