Default V50 Heater intermittent

The heater is intermittent on my 2006 Volvo. I am wondering if the thermostat is the issue? It will work for a bit then stop. Thank goodness the heated seats still work or I would be an ice cube here in northern Wyoming. Ideas to check?

Have you checked your coolant level? Your car (06 V50) unfortunately does not have a low coolant warning system - and the heater will stop working if it is low on coolant.

BTW there is no heater control valve to reduce hot water flow into the heater core. Heat is controlled with a blend door - (blending warmed with cold air for the desired temp.)

Will check coolant. Thanks. I know there is an overflow as I replaced it a few years ago.
