My wife's just bought a 2006 V50 and the only negative so far has been the almost non-existent radio reception. The AM bands doesn't work at all. The FM band in the out of town areas only gets like 1-2 stations but in the city get most everything. When it does get a stations they come in pretty clear. My first thought was that there was a bad antenna. So I bought an adapter to plug in a regular whip antenna. With the whip antenna plugged in and held way above the car the receptions didn't seem to change at all. So, my next thought is that I need to replace the antenna amplifier that's by the rear passenger window. Any thoughts or ideas?

 

I have this problem. I bought my '58 Volvo v50 in 2009 and Radio reception was perfect. But over time it has slowly degraded to the point that event the last working channel (radio1) is patchy.
Has anyone seen or been able to resolve this?
