V50 versus V70 cargo volume
What's your thoughts on cargo volume in the back with seats up on the V50. I'm thinking about a V70 which has lots of room for the two greyhounds, but wouldn't mind the better MPG, lower cost of the V50 wagon. Responses?
In my humble opinion the V70 is one of the most practical vehicles ever. I recently purchased a 2000 V70 to replace my 1995 Pathfinder and never looked back.
What is the weight difference between the two? I believe they have the same 5 cylinder engines and drivetrain. The V50 is more sporty, but smaller.
I have a 5 speed, front wheel drive, non-turbo. My average per tank MPG is 26-29.5, with an all time best of 36!! For the last 7500 miles my average shown on the on board computer read out is 27.8 MPG. I cast my vote for the V70. Especially with TWO greyhounds. JMC

Man, don't stuff your dogs in a v50. We put the seats down and bought a gate. The Lab ate my wifes last car so we have to make a jail. The German Shepherd loves attacking the rear wiper. Big dogs need room to stretch and you also need luggage room. Gas mileage is always over 24 even with me stomping on the gas.
