Default 98 s70 v70 Versus Later models

Hello all, Im looking into buying a s70 or v70 but I have a few questions:

Everyone says to try to get a 98 model as they are better. Is this because 98 still uses obdII instead of volvo subscription ECM, as well as other overengineering?

I really like the feel of AWD. does either the s70 or v70 have the AWD option in 98?

Is volvo AWD a solid systme or can they be prone to problems?

THANKS

In 1999 they went to electronic throttle body's No throttle cable.

I think the 1998 was avalible in AWD.

The AWD system is So So. But the system is disabled once you hit 30 or 35 MPH.

I don't know why but older cars seem to last longer like 240. I don't see much late 90s volvos as much as I see recent 2005-7 volvos and old 240s
