Default Volvo v50 fault code indications

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could help be out, I have a Volvo v50 on a 55 plate and recently, a month after a service from a none Volvo dealer the error message 'engine system service alarm' came up on the dash. Nothing obvious was wrong with the car and it didn't go into 'limp' mode, if anything it drove fine.

I took the car to a local garage 'halfords' and they found a few fault codes, some stored and they couldn't rectify as they were dealer only.

The registered fault codes were:

C301 unknown fault code??
2585 control unit additive metering faulty signal

The 4 fault codes that were also registered were:

3AOO engine control signal too high
8FB2 rain sensor module faulty signal
DE30 control unit pas communication error
0001 mileage wrong value

There seems to be numerous faults stored and nothing obvious wrong with the engine? I did find once a week I would get a sporadic alarm on the dash of all the alarms for a fraction of a second and then extinguisher without time to see what it was??

Does anyone have an idea what the issue could be before I face I hammering from the Volvo dealer, getting a little worried it could be a defective control unit, hopefully it would be a software upgrade and a sensor change?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards Scott
