Default Is the Volvo V50 now discontinued?

Looking on the Volvo website I notice that the V50 is no longer advertised, has it been officially discontinued? Will it be replaced? The V40 is very nice but a bit small for me, the V70 is too large.

Yep, it is discontinued. They have the V60 in Europe but last I heard, it wasn't coming to the US.

The V50 was discontinued in the USA. It is still sold in some European countries. I went through the search process last month and ended with a 2009.

Th V60 IS coming to the US. They recently had a press ride and drive in Las Vegas:

The 2015 Volvo V60 Is Reason Enough For Volvo To Survive

Some dealers east of the rockies have received theirs already. On another forum, some members have already test driven/placed orders.

May, I want it!

The V60s are already out in most places. Ever l we've had ours for a couple of weeks now and we only have one with the new dual charged ( supercharged turbo) engines and that was the first one to sell. The R design ones have bucket type seats which I really like but one thing everyone keeps bringing up is how there isn't much room in the back seats.

The V40 is apparently only 20mm smaller than the V50, but looks TINY compared to the V50 as I've test driven both (and owned the V50). The boot size is way smaller so I decided to upgrade to the V60. If the V40 was in the US, then if I were you then I would choose the V60 because it's really fun to drive!

The V60 is a replacement for the V50? Based on cargo capacity, the V60 makes no sense. Volvo is making a mistake trying to compete as a luxury car. Safety and practicality have it all over "sporty appearance". Bring the V70 back to the U.S. instead of "rugged appearing" faux SUV, Xc70. The exterior dimensions of the V60 and V70 are virtually identical, but cargo capacity is drastically reduced. Even the fuel tank is smaller.
