Default "burping" engine

I'm waiting on Timing belt, water pump, thermostat...etc to arrive from FCP. I did some searches, but couldn't find any info on 'burping' the engine after coolant change.

- Anyone have any good tips on how to do this on an XC70?
- how much coolant should I expect to drain?

What year is it?
If it is 98-2000 or older then nothing special to burping. Fill the bottle all the way to the top and drive the car and it should drop to the max line.
If it is a 2001 or newer it usually burps twice. It also usually takes between 6 to 8 miles for it to burp all the way.

it's a 2001

So once I get TB, WP, thermostat...etc installed. Fill it up and drive around for 8mi...fill up again....and I'm done?...that is easy.

It might burp once while sitting warming up. When it burps you will know it the low coolant light will come on.
