You may remember my last post about "transmission service required" message that popped up,
after calling volvo, they said 9/10 times it has to do with disabling the neutral function while stopped, they said next time i was in they would clear the code... here is where it gets weird..
I started the car today message and orange warning triangle were gone.
Why is this so, do they reset after some time???

If the fault is not seen after a certain amount of Key cycles it will turn the light and the triangle off.
The codes will still be stored in the car though.

 

Does this mean if the message does not appear again, there is no problem.

Got Transmission software upgrade today, also disabled neutral control function.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE, Feels like a new car.
stored code was: "TCM-012a neutral control neutral control"
Thanks for your help TECH i wonder how many people get ripped for a new tranny.
I went in with the info that i needed.
