"Transmisson service required" message
Hi All, Well after about 1 year of volvo ownership, with only a few minor issues i had the "transmission service required message pop up, with the orange warning light. i suppose this question is for tech, what normally is the diagnosis when you see a car with this message come into the shop? it changes smoothly, goes from park to drive & reverse with no hesitation, only issue is when pulling up at the lights it can sometimes lurch/jolt a bit when engaging after stopping (but i know that that is quite normal for this model)
is has 89,000km or 55600 v70 2.4t 2000 (new shape)
Thanks
Jamie

RE: "Transmisson service required" message
Do you think that it needs a flush!! should i do it!!
This is the most debated question on any volvo forum,
Have you seen much sucess with software upgrade?
also what did you mean by a fluke?? i know what fluke means
did you mean the message popped up by fluke.
It did jolt at the light's just before the messgae displayed..
Thanks
Jamie

RE: "Transmisson service required" message
Very little things can make it come on.
If one of the computers has a brain Fart it could make it come on. If the throttle body is going out it could make it come on. ETC
Sometimes a flush will help other times it will not.
The milage you have is still low. If it looks red instead of brown no need to flush. If it looks Brown then you can flush.
I have seen Software fix many things for the Transmission.
Has your neutral control been disabled yet?
That will give you jumping sitting at redlights. There was a problem with it in these cars and they downloaded software and disabled it.
