what did they charge for the part (there's only 1 rear sensor, correct?), labor and diagnostic? If they charged about $200 for the sensor and $150 to diagnose/repair, shop supplies and tax, then it doesn't sound that bad. Of course, doing it yourself would have cost about $150 for the part, but you would have had to be able to diagnose it too.

Which sensor?
They are a pain to replace I would say 1.0 to 1.5 hours or so labor plus the part.

So yes it would work out to be pretty good.

on the T5, it apparently has one sensor that splits into two, working for both back wheels. at least that's the part the mechanic showed me that he took out of the car and replaced. $88 to diagnose, the part was $130, labor $130 for an hour but they kept my car all damn day. just wondering if I got took for a ride.

To me the labor rate is a little high but that sounds pretty close.

Angry ABS problem

now after they changed the abs sensor, the light still comes on and the brakes "shutter" a little bit and then the light stays on for about 30-45 minutes. could they have done something wrong upon installation? because I've never had this problem before.

Has your ABS module been replaced/rebuilt?

You can try to reset them but the ABS module might need to be rebuilt.
