Default '00 Radio Code

Hi all. I bought a factory radio off of eBay with a cd player replaces my current base cassette model.
Anyways, I was punching in some random codes to see if I could bypass the code of the radio... And soon enough the radio froze up and displayed a message of "off".

I let the seller know I didn't have the number and he gave me the car's VIN and told me that I could also read the number off of the radio to get the code. But my question is how do I get to back where I can punch in the code?

Thanks
Conrad

You have to leave the key in position 1 for 3 or so hours till it says code.
Stop by your local Dealer with the radio and have them give you the code.

If the battery is weak it might. If it is strong it will not. Only the radio and SRS light should be on since you will only be in position 1.
