OK so I went to the gas station to fill up and the fuel door won't open. Referenced the manual quickly and driver's door must be unlocked. Played with the central locks and door locks for a few minutes without success. Went home and searched the web for any solution. Cannot seem to find any kind of disabling mechanism for this model year's fuel door or any manual unlock button, rod, etc. Does anyone know how to disable this so I can fill up my car? Any help would be much appreciated.

 

So, I found the motor behind the panel and insulation. I manually pulled back the rod that locks the door. Is there an easier way to do this without ripping apart the cargo area? I lubricated the rod, and hope that works for awhile.

 

If you cannot get it working and do not want to replace right away put a wire on it. Then slide it one way or the other through the tail light access hole.
