Question 01 V70 Hi-Beams will not stay on

Just today bought a 2001 V70 and thought I was getting a deal. Now not too sure. Several small bugs to work out but most annoyng at the moment is the hi-beam headlights will not stay on. I read the headlight switch must be rotated over in the 3rd position and not just in daylight running lights mode so have done that. Still, when I pull the turn signal lever toward me, the hi-beams come on, but go back off as soon as I turnt eh lever loose. I do not here a "CLICK" like I'm used to hearing with my other non-Volvo vehicles. Am I doing something wrong or is the hi-beam switch possibly bad and if so, any tips where it's mounted?
thanks!

Default high beams

Greetings,

On the left side of the dash (next to wipers) there is a dial for lights that has 3 positions. In order for the high beams to work the dial must be at 12:00 or the picture of the light.

Hope this helps, good luck!

much appreciate the reply, but I have already tried that. With headlight switch rotated to 12:00, the high beams act just same as if I still had the switch in daytime running mode.

took it to local dealership today - they say I need a new "turn signal stalk" for $100 and $70 to install. I think maybe I don't need high beams right now!
