Default '01 V70 X/C Hesitation?

My '01 X/C that we just purchased is exhibiting some hesitation symptoms. Upon initial throttle tip-in from a standstill, it feels like it stumbles or hesitates for a small fraction of a second and then continues on fine. Also, when the car is cruising down the road, (level) maintaining speed, it has a slight hiccup (very slight) or hesitation. I can feel and hear the engine changing rpm slightly. I know that the ETM on these vehicles have issues. The plugs were changed about 11k ago using an NGK plug (NOT Volvo sourced). I have successfully thoroughly cleaned one of these ETMs in the past on my buddy's '00 V70 Non-Turbo and it made all the difference. Anyone have any idea if I'm barking up the wrong tree? What else should I consider to remedy the situation?

if ignition coils are the originals, you need new ones, OEM Bosch only

cleaning the throttle body is a good start maybe a dirt mass air flow?
