Hello, I have read somewhere that the V70 R models have runflat tires and no spare. Does this also apply to the 2005 - 2007 V70 2.5T models? Or do they have a spare tire? And if they do, is it compact or full size, and where in or under the car is it located? thanks in advance.

 

Hello, If I can muse on your nickle...The recess in the floor of my V70's cargo area can take only the compact spare. I just don't see other options (full size spare tire well) existing. You access the spare by removing the odd shaped carpeted "plugs" on either side of the hatch. Twist the 2 quarter turn hold down locks and remove the flimsy, fuzzy plastic tool tray and there you'll see the spare. Run Flats as new car equipment? It just seems unlikely as the R's are so performance oriented and run flats are not. There is an "R" board where more people might have experience with this. Kira

 

Thanks for the response. I do not know for sure that the R's have runflat. I was told this and it does seem possible. I will check the r forum. I do know for example that toyota sienna minivans come with a spare, unless you get the AWD version. All AWD siennas come with no spare as the rear differential takes the space where the spare would be, so they are equiped with run flat. Anyway if I understand correctly, all 2005 - 2007 v70 2.5T's have a compact spare? thanks Greg
