What needs to be done at the 100k kilometre service (for a v70 2004)?

ALL 2004 VOLVO MODELS

FYI, if you have not had your timing belt replaced yet, the interval is for a max of 10 years so you'd be due asap. (also replace all the idler wheels, tensioner and water pump since if one of those fails it can rip the belt and trash (as in you'll need a valve job) your engine.

Timing belt is at 168k on that.
Is it beneficial to change early? Kind of expensive

the problem is not the mileage but the age. Most specs say 10 years max regardless of miles. The risk of having a timing belt break is that you have an "interference engine" meaning the valves open in an overlap to the piston. If the timing is off, the exhaust valves will hit the piston and you're looking at an engine rebuild and having to replace the valves (x10). Also, the cause for belts breaking is not always due to the belt itself - the idler and tensioner wheels and water pump can also fail with age and cause the belt to break. You can remove the top cover to get a look and check for wear or cracks but I'd say your on borrowed time. You may get another few years but its something that needs to be done.
