Gas guage does not work, what and where to look for cause of this problem

 

It's likely the sending unit in the tank. How long has it been out?

 

about a year now

 

Chech the wires going into the tank. Make sure they are connected and not frayed.

 

I have recently purchased a Volvo repair CD off the internet and require a password to be able to use it. The admin feature allowed me to load it but I cannot open it. This is an original Volvo CD. I need the specs to be able to fix my 1998 V70, esp. the brake system. It needs rotors, pads,and I don't know what else. Anyone out there have the info for me? Thanks, Old Iron nut.
