Is the top speed on a 1998 V70 T5 (US model) automatic electronically limited?

LOL, in other words, they don't know or care. I believe it is. Let us know if you have the chance to find out. My R is limited to something like 156 mph.

 

No they do, and I thought the same as you. Have you ever emailed them? Very prompt, and I have no complaints. They didn't really answer my question though. It appears 250kph is it, will the car go that fast? I don't know I've had it to 140mph. They are saying 250kph is the limit, but didn't specify if it was electronically, drag, or gear limited.

Below is the response we received from Sweden regarding your question:

The max speed limit on this vehicle is 250 km/h. This was an agreement between most of the European car manufacturers at that time.

Note---Later, Volvo introduced 3 different max speed limits and US spec cars got max speed 210 km/h.
