1998 V70T5 VERS 2001 V70T5 WHICH TO BUY?
Looking at buying a used Volvo. Found a 1998 V70T5 with 105,000 miles, timing belt and fluids replaced. Also found a 2001 V70T5 101,000 can't tell if timing belt done, Im sure it has not been since the milage is just a 100,000. Both very clean, both have no maintenance history. I would take either one to a Volvo shop for pre inspection. If it were you, which would you buy? the old style or the new? There is pro's and con's to both. I'm leaning toward the 1998.
98 is pre-ford I believe...but I do like the new chassie design of the P2 models (01-07).
I would get the 98. I still think that is my favorite overall, and it has a good supply of preformance parts

I was under the impression that after the buy-out Ford didn't put too many of their parts into Volvo...I know the newer models (within the last 3 years or so) have a lot of Ford in them but what about the P2?
I get the impression that Ford for the most part leaves it buy-outs alone...Volvo stayed much purer than Saab did after the GM buyout. GM seems to steal all the blood of whoever it buys...
