hello. i have a 2000 v70 and recently (past few weeks), it has been making a loud whine on start up. Accompanied by the noise is a hard to turn steering wheel (so obviously it's something with the power steering). The problem goes away after about a minute or so. Also, I am having trouble with a leaky power steering fluid resivoir, but I'm thinking I might need a new cap (I have used three bottles of the thick Lucas Oil stuff, which is supposed to stop leaks, but it's not working).

 

Hello, Get your new cap (with integral gasket) and a litre bottle of CHF11S (Pentosin Power Steering Fluid) and flush out the viscous Lucas product. Lots of posts on flushing P/S fluid. Kira
