[QUOTE=TooManyVolvos;116779]Hi. I am having the same problem with my wifes V70. I tried the epoxy fix and, even though I was metitulous about cleaning/degeasing and roughing up the surface, the smell has returned (though not as bad as before). So, at this point, I am planning to replace the leaking part. Two questions: How do I remove the big plastic ring that holds the whole assembly into the gas tank? What part actually needs to be replaced (the fuel pump itself is inside the leaky plastic housing). Anyone have a part number? Anyone know if Volvo issued a recall to cover the 2001 V70's??? OK, thats 4 questions...[sm=smiley25.gif][/QUOTE
Were you able to replace the pump?'What did you have to do to remove the plastic ring and get the pump out?

Default I had my mechanic pull the entire fuel pump assembly

We pulled the entire fuel pump and replaced it and it still smells like gas but not as strong. So now I am guessing that I have to start replacing hoses
