Default Leaking Fuel Pump...anything near there that is hot enough?

In my 1989 Volvo 240, I have a bad fuel pump in the back near the driver side rear tire. It's not leaking to the point where I notice the gas mileage is effected, but it smells really strong on the outside. I can't get it fixed till next Fri. Do you think I will be ok driving the car till then? There's nothing around that area that gets so hot it would ignite gasoine, is there?

I wouldn't drive it at all.
All it will take is you to run something over and a spark to happen for disaster.

Too dangerous. Don't do it.
