Hi...My 2006 v70 2.5T is giving poor gas mileage (13 - 14 mpg in city). The car is still under warranty. I have been complaining to the dealership eversince I first purchased the car but I was told that the mileage would significantly improve after 5,000 miles. Well the mileage is now 21,333 and the mileage has gone from 15 mpg in the city to 13-14 mpg. On the highway, with the instantaneous reading, the mpg is averaging 23 and I have seen it go to 27. When the car was new, I have seen the highway mpg go to 31-32 mpg instantaneous...that does not happen anymore. City mpg has always been poor. I don't do much highway driving. The combined city/hwy average is 17 mpg. I don't drive with a heavy foot on the accelerator. On the highway, my cruising speed is about 80 mph. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to resolve my gas mileage problem? Might there be a problem with the turbo? Also, what do I have to say to get the dealership to take my concern seriously? Thanks.

 

If the dealership looked into it (via VIDA) and read if trouble codes stored in system. if none nothing can be done

 

Hello, I live in San Francisco and have a 2001 v70 t5 with 87.5k. I've had the carsince new and have always got11-12 mpgcity (tank full to tank full- no free way driving).My Benz gets about the same city mpg. However, i regularly see 27 mph @ 65mph on freeway trips to lake tahoe. What you are discribing sounds normal for a 4000lb car in stop and go conditions
