33 mpg!
I drove my 2006 v70 ( 2.4 auto) from upstate NY to Baltimore and back this past week. First refill was 12.9 gallons at 420.7 miles. second refill was 8.4 at 278.5 miles ( topped off with cheaper New Jersey gas).
Gotta love that New Jersey gas... cheaper and full service required... I always stop on the last exit before leaving the state. (It almost makes up for the horrible smells from being NYC dumping ground...)
That was a joke! Don't start slamming me now... [8D]
I just made a drive from Al to CT and got about 20 mpg with the car loaded up with suitcases and pulling a trailer. We'll see what happens on the way back when I fully load up the trailer. If you see me on the road give me a wide berth please (just look for Al tags, a car-top carrier and a trailer carrying a motorcycle and possibly a lawnmower - trying to look like a true Southerner).
There, now I've offended northerners and southerners, so I'll be welcome nowhere.

I have done several relatively long runs this summer (daughter back and forth to camp. etc) in my '03 2.4T. I routinely see 30-31 mpg traveling at speeds that require a certain awareness of the local constabulary. According to the little computer window, my range is about 600 miles. - this with new tires, Michelin Pilots, which return about 1 - 1.5 mpg less than the OE MX4Vs. (well worth it, in my opinion, for improvement in road behavior)
